Signs your gutters need repair
Common signs homeowners notice:

It is not always the gutter
When we inspect a roof, we often find spots where it is leaking, but not into the house. The water drips out through the soffit at the overhang, so nobody notices. Underneath, the roof deck is rotting while the shingles on top look fine.
From the ground, that can look like a gutter problem.

Or ice that built up at the roof edge over the winter and backed water up behind the shingles.
Rehanging a gutter will not fix a rotted fascia board or a soft deck behind it. So Mervin climbs up, takes photos, and shows you exactly where the water is coming from.
Repair or replace?
A repair makes sense when the problem is local: one loose section, a leaking seam, a downspout that came apart. If the gutters are in decent shape otherwise, there is no reason to replace them.
Replacement starts to make more sense when problems keep coming back along the whole run, when sections are badly damaged, or when the fascia behind them needs work anyway.
If replacement is the better call, we will tell you plainly and point you to new gutter installation.
After a storm
Ohio usually sees one or two hailstorms each spring, and hail can dent gutters along with the shingles above them. If your gutters took a hit, the roof probably did as well. We inspect both and share photos and documentation with your insurance company once you choose us. We will also tell you straight whether filing a claim looks worth it. Why is water coming through my soffit?
Sometimes it is an overflowing gutter. Often it is a roof leak at the overhang that never reaches the ceiling, caused by worn flashing or winter ice backing water under the shingles. Our free inspection checks both so you are not paying to fix the wrong thing.
Can a sagging gutter be fixed, or does it need to be replaced?
Often a single sagging section can be repaired. If the fascia board behind it is rotted, that has to be dealt with first or the gutter will pull loose again. We will show you photos of what is holding the gutter up before recommending anything.
Is gutter repair covered by insurance after hail?
Sometimes, but there is no guarantee. It depends on your policy and the damage. We inspect, document with photos, and tell you straight whether filing looks worth it. Once you choose us, we share that documentation with your insurance company.
