Roof Repair or Replacement in Cambridge, OH
Not every old roof needs replacing. We climb yours, show you the photos and tell you plainly whether a repair will hold.
Free inspection and written estimate.

Older homes on and around the National Road
Cambridge is the Guernsey County seat, at the junction of I-70 and I-77. Most of its housing is older. Census figures put the median home at 1955, and close to 59 percent predate 1960. Downtown, the Wheeling Avenue Historic District lines the old National Road with Late Victorian buildings, including the Berwick Hotel and the Italianate Broom Building.
Older roofs don't always need replacing. If the deck is solid and the problem is in one place, a roof repair is the right call, and we'll say so. If the deck is soft in several spots, we'll show you why a roof replacement makes more sense.
We are a family-run company based in Apple Creek, owned by twin brothers. Mervin does the inspection and estimate. Marvin leads our in-house crew of six.
How we decide what your roof needs
These are the questions Mervin answers on the roof, with photos, before he writes an estimate.
Is the deck solid?
Soft decking in one spot is a repair. Soft decking in several areas usually means the roof is past it.
Is the damage in one area?
A few missing shingles or one bad flashing detail is a repair. Damage across most of the roof is not.
Can the shingle still be matched?
If your shingle is discontinued, we can order an ITEL report, a lab report that shows whether it can still be matched.
Is it the chimney?
Cracked chimney grout lets water in above the flashing. Resealing the flashing won't stop it, so we check the chimney itself.
Is the repair worth it?
If a repair would cost more than it's worth for the years the roof has left, we'll tell you.
If you only want to know what shape your roof is in, with no estimate, that's fine too.
What we do in Cambridge
Roofing first, plus the parts of the house the roof drains onto.

Roof repair
Leaks at chimneys, valleys and roof edges on older homes. We fix the cause, not just the stain.
Roof repair →
Roof replacement
When a repair won't hold: tear-off to the deck, Owens Corning Duration shingles, usually done in one day.
Roof replacement →
Storm damage repair
After high wind, we photograph what we find and tell you plainly whether it needs a repair, a replacement or nothing.
Storm damage repair →
Gutter repair
Sagging or leaking gutters often mean trouble at the roof edge or fascia. We check both.
Gutter repair →
Soffit repair
Drips or stains under the eaves usually start above them. We find the source first.
Soffit repair →
Siding repair
A few vinyl pieces loose or cracked? If the product is still made, the six-man siding crew we subcontract replaces just those pieces.
Siding repair →Porch, garage or addition with a low-slope roof? See flat roofs. Gutters that need replacing rather than fixing are covered under gutter installation.
Pricing a roof in Cambridge
You get the number in writing after the inspection. A repair is usually the smaller number, and we tell you when it's enough.
Size of the roof
More squares mean more material and more labor.
Condition of the deck
Rotted boards, or spaced decking that has to be re-sheeted before shingles go on, add to the job.
Chimney and flashing
On older houses the chimney and flashing are often where leaks start, and that work is priced into the roof estimate.
Repair or replacement
If a repair will do, we price the repair. We don't push a new roof you don't need.
Financing is available, including a 12-months-same-as-cash option. Terms are reviewed with your written estimate. Check financing.
Free, written, and no pressure. We'll explain every line before you decide.

Cambridge roofing questions
Answers for homeowners in and around Guernsey County.
Do you work on older homes near Wheeling Avenue?
Yes. That includes houses near the Wheeling Avenue Historic District, the stretch where the Dickens Victorian Village display goes up for the holidays. We inspect older roofs the same way as any other: from the roof, with photos of the deck edges, flashing and chimney.
Did the September 2026 tornado damage roofs near Cambridge?
The National Weather Service's preliminary survey found an EF-0 tornado, with peak winds near 85 mph, that ran from near New Concord to about 3 miles west-southwest of the city. It damaged trees, buildings and properties. The survey didn't single out roofs. If you're near its path, a free storm damage inspection will tell you whether yours took damage.
Do you serve Byesville, Cumberland or Lore City?
Cambridge is on our list of service towns. Byesville, Cumberland and Lore City are Guernsey County villages, so call us about those. If you're within reasonable driving distance, we'll likely still take the job.
When should I book?
We work spring through fall and shut down for winter in mid-December, so fall is the time to get on the schedule. The inspection is free any time we're working.
